I think it looks good. I was curious why work experience seemed to end as of June 2007. Also, laws prohibit or restrict employers from asking some questions about marital status, children, etc. But you aren't prohibited from offering that info. I wouldn't want to be an employer who had to walk on eggs getting that info, yet I would want to know. So, you could offer it up as a courtesy

I just received a letter in the mail that my employer claims that I am no longer employed due to quiting for no good cause (not exact words, don't have the letter in front of me) Ok so here is my situation, I got a job with my sister at her company that was only 10 minutes from where I lived ( outside philadelphia airport). Due to me and my sister being related they could not hire me. The company instead could hire me through a temp agency. The companys corporate office (located in pittsburg) suggested the agency I had to go through, being as though pittsburg was 6 hours away from where I lived they sent me to a the temp agencys branch in Wayne PA. I went there and filled out w2, contact information and filled out an application for them to keep in my file. I was told to go through the temp agencys pittsburg branch contact & send her my time card every week, not the wayne branch that I filled out my information at. Six months went by and the company I was working for announced that they were relocating the office from by the philadelphia airport all the way to Newtown Pa (hour & a half away depending on traffic) At the time I did not drive and carpooled to work each day with my sister or by public transportation. There was no way I would be able to make the comute to the new office let alone afford to get an apartment out there. I spoke with my managers at the company and we discused my situation, I decided it would be best if I did not stay with the company and tried to see if the temp agency could find me a new job in my current location. I agreed to stay with the company until they found someone for my position. This consisted of me sleeping on my sisters couch for two months! Finally they found someone for the position and I had enough time to train them. I emailed my temp agencys contact and let her know of my situation she told me that I would have to contact the wayne office to see if they could find me a job in my area & to let her know when my last day would be so she could take me out of her system. I contacted the Wayne office and the woman I spoke with I had to explain the situation with working with the pittsburg branch and she said she found my information in the system & told me to email her my resume and that she would contact me as soon as she found a job in my area, but with the economy it would be hard to do but I was able to collect unemployment. The sunday following my last day at the company I contacted the unemployment office and filed for unemployment under being layed off for lack of work. I was approved and started receiving checks. About 3 weeks later I was contacted by a different person from the temp agency asking me the same information the woman had asked me and to please send him my resume. This I did and I explained to him that I had already been through this process with someone else at the agency and he claimed he didnt understand why because he is the person who deals with finding jobs for my feild of work? (same thing the lady told me) It has now been about a month and a half sense anyone has contacted me and I have now recieved this letter that my unemplpyment benefits will be terminated and that I have to call by the 20th with any discrepencies. Is the temp agency able to do this? They have never contacted me about any job opertunitys? I am worried there has been some sort of mix up. Do I have a good case to dispute. What should I do? If I loose will I then need to pay the money back? Any help would be great, Thank you all!

Did the letter state that your unemployment would terminate because your last employer, which was the agency and not the company they placed you with, stated that you voluntarily quit? That's where the agency strikes out. Here are your discrepancies, and here is where you tell the Unemployment office that you are "confused." Number one: You did not leave voluntarily. The job left you. When you were placed with the company, they knew your transportation limits. You remained in the position as long as possible, until they relocated. Still technically an employee of the agency, you continued to follow up with them in earnest, looking for another position. Whether two placement people from the same agency or two from separate ones is just a matter of semantics. The point is that you ARE actively seeking employment. Would you show this more by sending your resume to as many agencies as possible? Maybe, but in a bad economy, either the jobs are out there or they are not. Also, when someone files for unemployment, the weekly benefits amount is calculated using the earning from the prior base year. Depending upon how long you were at the position placed by the agency, they're either on the hook for the whole thing contribution wise, or just a portion of it. To sum it up, you didn't quit and you've been looking for work ever since your former position relocated to a distance that you were unable to commute to/from. Accordingly, you are entitled to unemployment benefits, benefits YOU paid into.
