Comments Please. If possible read all? I just turned 28 years old, I have a BS in Zoology (didnt know what I wanted to do at the time) and was lucky enough to land a job after school which allowed me to explore other career interests.

For the past 4.5 years I have been working for a small rural Long Term Care Facility doing a combination of mid level accounting, business office management and IT work. With regards to IT, I have helped a relatively computer illiterate clinical bunch implement an electronic medical record including: Working with management on equipment/software planning and purchasing, Server 2003 LAN setup, wireless networking, managing access to resources and supporting 100 users.

Although I am not really a hard-core programmer-type, I have an interest in technology and have always been able to pick things up easily. I am good with people and acting as a liaison between the tech guys and management/end users. The issue is I dont plan on staying where I am forever and am worried about my lack of formal education in the computer field.

My questions are: 1. Do you think a Systems Analyst would be a good career for me to shoot for considering my past and personality? 2.What do you recommend for education to increase my odds of getting a job? Another Bachelors Degree (In the Computer Field), a possibly more practical tech school degree, or an MBA (possibly focusing on technology in a business environment)? Thanks for any advice I really appreciate it. Career Advice from any System Analysts? This case breaks my heart. The woman said she had been home-schooling the girl and her 12-year-old brother for four years. The girl, who is 4 feet 7 inches tall, told authorities that she was given primarily toast to eat and only about 6 ounces of water per day. She said her stepmother even watched when she brushed her teeth to make sure she didn’t drink extra water. She suffered severe malnutrition and dehydration and spent two weeks at Children’s Hospital in Seattle. Dentists had to extract six teeth because of long-term decay, court papers said. She is now in foster care and has gained more than 20 pounds, prosecutors said. Her foster father said she is attending a private school and making friends. The boy, whose height and weight were normal, was also placed in foster care, authorities said. It was not immediately known if the couple had lawyers. No one answered the door Monday at their home. Pomeroy, a computer software engineer, had divorced the girl’s mother in the 1990s, The Seattle Times reported. In a court affidavit, a detective said the father told him the conflict between his daughter and wife “was concerning but he thought they could just handle it themselves.” Pomeroy admitted he never sought professional help for the girl even though he noticed she looked far younger than 14. Even the family’s two dogs were fed normally and had recently been taken to the vet, authorities said. Child Protective Services had investigated after a teacher reported concerns about the girl in 2005, and the stepmother received counseling. “There were similar issues with the girl’s weight. Obviously, it was not as extreme,” CPS spokesman Thomas Shapley told the newspaper. Riverview School District officials said the girl had been attending a once-a-week class for home-schooled students when the teacher raised the concerns in March 2005. Her parents withdrew her from the program, and afterward failed to file yearly reports required from parents who home-school their children. But do you see how they were using “home schooling” as an excuse to keep their kid off the grid? They were hiding abuse, that’s all. I’m just asking what adjustments could be made to ferret out people like this. ozboz, while I think you have a legitimate issue, your child came home at nigt and was able to tell you. What if they couldn’t leave their abuser? What if they were at their mercy at every moment? I know you want the state to stay out of it, but? I have been using winamp, but it is a little basic. I have heard of floola and a few others, but most of the websites that describe these pieces of software do not review them. If you are going to say “itunes” then read below, if not you have probably not been brainwashed by the master of the press release yet (jobs) and your mind is free.

I have asked this question before, and so I would like to prevent the typical answers of: “itunes is the only thing that works” and “why dont you just use itunes” and “i have never had any problems with itunes” because I dont care to listen to people who defend a brand name like it was their own family. also because the above statements are either pure lies or they are misinformed opinions created by people who should not be answering questions. itunes is such a god awful program and I simply cannot go back to it. and yes, you can find literally thousands of websites and forums discussing how terrible this software is. it is extremely slow, it takes up excessive amounts of memory, it is huge (the download is ~70 megabytes), and it offers absolutely NOTHING special. The EULA is worse than anything Microsoft, the FBI, the DEA, and the NSA have ever come up with: 2. She is also a chronic diabetic. Her two children are employed in the software industry and hence due to continuous travel, are not able to take care of her. She is quite active personally but not able enough to take care of house hold chores. They want to admit her in an affordable medium cost long term residential care center which will treat her kindly and keep her active and healthy.
