I'm looking to buy a higher ticket item on eBay and there are several listed. My sniping software is a simple open-source product, great for straight use but I'm looking to set up something more complex here.
I need a product that allows me to flag multiple auctions, set a price, snipe away but then STOP if I actually win one of the auctions. I'm not sure what this feature would even be called, so I can't tell who would offer it. I have DSL, so I can use software, but if I have to employ a service to get the feature I need, I'll do that. I just don't want to wake up one morning, log in and discover that my sniper has just purchased me 15 of the same item and is still bidding away!!

It does exactly what you are describe using 'bidding groups'
There may be others also, I just have always used it and it works great.
when i tried to log on to my account this morning it told me i had the wrong password. so i tried to reset my password but it told me i had tried to reset my password too many times recently, even thought i had not used that once, other than the time it told me that, so i made a free trial account and opened a ticket with a gm, i told him the specifics and he said he forwarded all the info to a specialist, and that i would soon recieve and email, so when i checked my email i had a message saying that my account was under review and temporarily banned due to inappropriate advertising.... i have never advertised in wow... 30 minutes later i got a email saying that GM's were investigating my account. it told me to try to reset my password but it still told me that i had tried to much recently, so that didnt work. i sent all 3 blizz emails messages and didnt get back from them for 5 hours now. it is sunday so the phone lines arent open. but i finally got a message- it thanked me for sending them an email and told me that i should just wait (for maybe a couple days).... these are the exact messages i have recieved

It sounds like you will just have to wait till tomorrow so you can talk to an actual person. They will probable just ending up cancelling the account or something. It is a waiting game now. As they said "several days" which could mean 2 or 14. Your best bet is to just wait, if you can't open a new account on a different computer.
I've got a bit of what I believe is a serious problem. Okay, as you may or may not know, Half-Life 1 is a dollar. My friend gifted it to me via email. I opened it up, it said "open your gift" and it started downloading. After about 5 minutes, the download is finished and I get ready to run half-life.
All of a sudden, it tells me my Steam ticket(whatever the hell that is) has expired and I need to log in again. I do that. Now whenever I try to launch it, it says "The steam servers are currently busy and your requests cannot be processed". Every time I try to launch, it gives me this message.
So I wait, and I made a bit of a discovery;every time I try to launch it, it will make me log in again. If I try to launch right after logging in, it will tell me the servers are busy. However, if I wait a couple seconds, and try it, it makes me renew my ticket again.
So, I restart steam, then my computer, and finally, uninstall the games. Annoyingly enough, I had to uninstall a bunch other of my games because it said "They used Half Life 1" even though I have played the games(Counter Strike and some others) without having to use Half-Life.
Okay, well, after uninstalling a lot of my games, and trying to reinstall them, I got the same error messages;right through the middle of the install. It would end up canceling the install.
So, you have heard my strange predicament. It's just the games section of steam that seems to be messing up. My game list is: Half Life source, Half-Life Deathmatch Source, Codename Gordon, Team Fortress 2(Preload), Half-Life(uninstalled) Counter Strike(uninstalled) Counter Strike:Condition Zero(uninstalled) and Counter Strike deleted scenes(uninstalled)
Note: I tried to redownload it through the email gift link, and it said that "It had already been downloaded, and if the guest pass had expired consider buying the game" yet when I try to buy the game again it only gives me the option to gift it considering I already have it.

There might be a few solutions for that.
Firstly I recommend you try uninstalling then re-installing Steam then making sure it has all the updates loaded. You can check for updates in the Steam's files menu.
Your friend by mistake may have sent you a Guest Pass altought he wanted to send you a gift. So it may only giving you a specific time of play and you might have finished your period. You can uninstall the game and buy it again from Steam.
If neither works, I recommend you contact Steam Support via E-Mail or via Steam. They should be able to help you with that.
