I recently bought a used computer and I did not receive all of the software and drivers. I wanted to reformat the hard drive but I wanted to make an emergency backup if I failed to have any essential drivers. Now I know I can slave a drive and copy everything to the new hard drive but that means I have to buy a new hard drive. Besides I already have a 1 GB USB memory stick and I think this method would be really cool to try out.

Oh by the way I tried to copy a recovery disk but the CD’s are to small for the system hardware and I don’t have the software to split the recovery CD’s.

Try a ASR back. this could be done with the backup tool provided in the system tools folder. Just getting the software to copy the recovery cd are much easier than backing up. Is it possible to make a recovery system backup using a boot disk and USB memory stick, if so how?
