Manager called me up her desk today and asked for explanation as this had been highlighted in the report the web monitoring software had given her. She believed me and even had to suppress a smile in front of the other temps.

Moral of the tale? Use a safer thesaurus!

I have firewire connected from the camera to the computer, but when I open up adobe premiere and click capture it says 'Capture Device Offline'. And yes, I have the camcorder on play mode. Am I not doing something wrong or do I need to update some type of software to get Adobe Premiere to detect it? If someone could help that would be greatly appreciated.

Go to device manager and check that your firewire card is ok. it can only be three things either the card is not working, the cable is damages or your camera is faulty, you need to eliminate the problem. try the cable and camera in another computer, if it does not work then a new cable, if its ok then you know it was the cable if it all works in another computer then its your firewire IEEE1394 that is causing you the problem, try reseating the card in the computer, take it out and replace it, making sure it is as close to the CPU as possible. then restart your computer. If you open Windows movie maker is your camera listed? if not then its not Adobe P If it is then reload the software. see if that helps. other then that contact Adobe and talk to their engineers you have paid a lot of money for a prog and you are entitled to the service.
