Apple admits ipad wifi woes

Apple has acknowledged that the iPad may have trouble connecting to a Wi-Fi network.iPad teardown shot, via the FCC.(Click for larger image and for all 17 iPad teardown photos.

)Apple released the tablet-style computer April 3 following weeks of speculation and much hype in the tech media. But like most first-generation devices, there are bugs. “Under certain conditions, iPad may not automatically rejoin a known Wi-Fi network after restart or waking from sleep,” Apple said in a post on its technical support site.

The company went on to say that the connection problems could occur with some third-party Wi-Fi routers that are dual-band capable when using the same network name for each network or using different security settings.

Apple advised iPad users to create separate Wi-Fi network names for each band and to keep security settings consistent.

Connecting the iPad to a Wi-Fi network was the second most popular topic among users in Apple’s discussion forum. The top topic was “getting started and using your iPad. “At least one customer appeared frustrated by the ordeal of trying to connect his iPad to the Internet.

I have a copy of this program from a few years ago and, in my opinion, it stinks. The commands are limited and the graphics are dated (at least this is the case with the version I have). You are better of getting an affordable version of Architectural Desktop, Autodesk, VIZ, or AutoCADD. Have you ever visited the Cad Store website? I believe the website is www.cadstore.com (google it to be sure). These programs vary in difficulty but are overall great tools (all with 3D capabilities and cabinetry templates available) that you could easily master with a little practice. The Good luck!

Im doing a project for school in my Future Studies class, and need some help finding a floor plan of a house. it has to be a ranch style house with only a first floor and a basement, needs 2 bedrooms (no more please) one a master and one a spare. the hard part is finding a layout of of both the first floor and the Basement, then I need a Picture of the front of the house. I would prefer something I could load into Punch home design and tweak if I need to, but a link to some pictures would be very handy. I know I wasn't to descriptive here, but any help would be apreaciated.

I grew up in such a house. From left to right across the front of the house: garage - living room (front door into right edge of living room)- master bedroom. back of the house, left to right: kitchen with eating area (same size as living room (back stairs to garage and basement on the left side) - bathroom, smaller bedroom. Hall dividing the house, running between the smaller bedroom and linen cupboard, built over the basement stairs. Nothing remarkable in the basement... water heater, forced air furnace, washer hookup. House built 1947, brick front, steel siding elsewhere, pitched roof. 750 sq ft.

I have a COMPAQ computer with a 2.4 GHz Intel Celeron Processor, 128 MB DOR SDRAM Memory, 40 GB Ultra DMA hard drive, and I have Windows XP on it. I'm not sure what my Video Card is like...but I know that it isn't that great, because when I attempted to use The Sims 2 on it a while ago, some of the features (like the water and stuff) didn't run correctly...then after a month or so the game stopped working on the computer all together. Then, for Christmas I just got the Punch! Home and Landscape Design program and tried to install THAT on the computer...but I was unsuccessful (seeing how I ran out of available space before it even fully completed installing). My fiance has been wanting to buy a "gaming computer" for a while, but we really can't afford to buy a whole new computer at the moment. So, what I was wondering, is if it would be a better investment to add a larger hard drive and better video card to our existing computer or should we just wait and buy an actual computer made for gaming later on when we have the money too? If the buy-a-new-computer option is the way to go...then what brand computer (and etc.) is the best one to get? And if the add-more-hard drive/video card option is the way to go, then where should we go to get that done?

I agree with miley that your machine is too old. You would have to upgrade your motherboard, and your old memory would have to go, since it wouldn't work on your new mobo. Then your processor would need to be replaced for your new mobo. And your hard drive is way to small for todays standards. Then you would have to get a new power supply to power all these new items, and if your Compaq is one that won't allow motherboard replacement, then you are looking at buying a new case. So: Motherboard Memory CPU (processor) Hard drive Power supply possibly new Case Video card Accessories ( such as cables, and stuff) So in essence, you are building a whole new computer. It would probably be cheaper to buy a new one, and if not, at least it would be more convenient by not having to rebuild the old one, which is a process that requires time and some skill. Check out Hp and Dell, for buys (sales) and also see what online stores offer, such as Mwave.com, Newegg.com and Tigerdirect.com, to name a few. By the way, if you decide to re build, these online stores also offer all the stuff you need. And take a look at this http://askbobrankin.com/how_to_buy_a_computer.html
